Ben Thurley is National Coordinator of Micah Australia. I’m husband to Lyndall and father to Gabe and Jacob. I’m a high school teacher (and part-time theologian) by training and taught in disadvantaged schools in Australia before starting work with Christian mission and justice organisation, TEAR Australia, to help churches live out their faith by being advocates with communities affected by poverty and oppression. My family and I have also lived and worked in Nepal, working with Christian organisations and churches to tackle issues that affect poor Nepalis: education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, peace-building, and accountable and honest government. Micah Australia is a movement of Australian Christians raising a powerful voice for justice and a world free from poverty. We welcome individuals and local churches adding their voice to the movement and finding ways to speak out for justice by signing up at www.micahaustralia.org – or look for the Micah movement in your country.
